Short Rant: The God Concept

**Disclaimer: Note to *clear's throat* everyone, this is not an argument on the God question, i.e. if God exists or not. It is a conversation about the Concept of God, the name of God, the word ‘God’. These are my thoughts, and they are expressed completely from my perspective **

First, I want to officially say that I hate that word. I hate the word God ‘cuz I am sick and tired of hearing it. Most of all, I am tired of us, the people, finding new definitions for it, so we can keep it in our vocabulary. Our attempt at rebranding and modernizing this old archetype aches me. Especially an archetype that has its purpose in perpetuating oppression and superiority complex.

God. The old white white-bearded man in the sky, the one that has rules, that you must follow. The rules that if you break, give you a one-way ticket to hell. That is God, to me, the only one. The original one, the one that actually owns that name, that title.

Now, we try to reupholster our 'God' definition. Now 'God' is a substitute for the Universe, for Energy, for the essence within us, Consciousness. Life itself, the life and realness in us. The thing that IS. I hate this reconstruction because I sense that it is a lazy attempt to stick to the old and familiar, without accepting the real damage it has done and STILL does. Yes, I'm heated about this.

*take's water break*

We didn't even change its spelling or the intonation. The same word, 'God', was used to tell us that our feelings were evil. Or that we had to be smaller because God said that was our place. The 'God' word that was used to torture us out of our Self. This is the same God we call source? The same that we call energy? Consciousness? But then we shake our heads frantically, “No," we say. "It is not the same God, it is not the fire and brimstone one, this is a different one”

We still call him “He” and point to the skies when we describe where he is. We say to ourselves, “I am God” “We are all God”. But, are we? If we really mean that, why then do we not point at ourselves and hold our chests when we say 'God'?

I hate the 'God' word. I’m sure we are creative enough to come up with a separate word that expresses all these new attributes. Y’know, one that isn’t already tainted.

I wonder what new words we would come up with. Got some suggestions?
