Do you really like him, or are you just obsessed with being liked by everybody?

Do you really like him, or are you just ovulating?
Do you really like him, or are you trying to self sabotage your present relationship because you are used to constant drama?

Do you really like him, or are you just looking for a way to have one foot out the door?
Do you really like him, or do you just like how he gives you head?

Do you really like him, or do you just like how he likes you?
Do you really like him, or do your friends and family think he’s right for you?

Do you really like him or do you guys just take cute pictures together?
Do you really like him or are you just bored?

Do you really like him, or do you just feel you should like somebody?
Do you really like him or are you just tired of being alone?

Do you really like him or are you just obsessed with being partnered up?
Do you really like him, or do you just not know how to say NO?

Do you really like him, or are you just used to pain (AKA a secret Masochist and not the fun kind)? 
Do you really like him, or are you just stuck in the past?

For me? Could be all of the above.

Sometimes it puzzles me that most of the things we argue about are insignificant, compared to what we NEED to be invested in. To me, issues of sexism, homophobia, racism and more of its kind are little issues. Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to insinuate that they aren’t important. No. Little issues are important too. Nigeria’s inability to just let herself heal

Everything is upside down?” These are all real statements, by the way, I didn’t just make them up. I have for sure said an equivalent of that sometime in my life but that doesn’t help me or the situation. We forget our history or rather, we want to move past it like it was just this thing that happened. Nigeria was birth out of a huge trauma, and much like any other trauma, there must be space and time to heal from it. Acceptance is also important. You cannot, for instance, get hit by a car, lose a leg but expect to walk like nothing happened. You must first heal from the wound, get a prosthetic leg that fits you and then practice walking one step at a time. You will not walk like a person without your wounds and that is as should be. Every Friday on my way to work, I walk beside a cemetery... or graveyard depending on what you call it. Walking by it scares me a lot, I honestly don’t know why. It’s not as if they can get up and do the whole walking dead thing. Sometimes, I cross to the other side of the street so that I’m not so close to it. It’s even worse because, when I’m going to work, it's usually around 6 in the morning, so it’s usually dark, especially in the winter. Today, I walked passed it, it was as dark because it was 3 hrs later than I usually go so I was less scared. But besides the brightness of the sky, it didn’t scare me at all because it dawned on me that life is so trivial, and it can be short. Even if a person lives till 200, there’s still a limited time that they’d have to do everything they want to because strength fades. The body ages, even though the sense of wonder might not.
